Ten Hungry Turkeys. – This is a super cute story about 10 hungry turkeys that were invited over for Thanksgiving lunch. At first, they are all very excited but then start wondering if they were going to be guest or dinner. Will any of them make it to the lunch? Will they get to eat or be eaten? You will need to check it out. A cute story and fun illustrations that your kids will love.

Turkey Trouble – This is our favorite read-aloud for Thanksgiving. The illustrations always get my kids giggling as they look at the hilarious costumes created by the turkey to help escape the farmer. My kids always love creating their own turkey in disguise after reading this book as an added bonus!

‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving – The book is a really funny parody of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas with some spoofs of famous paintings as well. My kids loved this silly story and were super excited that this author is the same as their beloved Dog Man Series. It’s a simple silly story that your kiddos will love. The illustrations are so much fun also.

The Best Thanksgiving Ever – What a funny book about a family of turkeys getting ready for the big day! The illustrations are fun and engaging. This was a hit with my kids. So far I found that PreK through 2nd grade kids all LOVED the story! Dont’ worry, the end has nothing to do with eating turkey of course! Great book for Thanksgiving! Highly recommend!

If You Were a Kid on the Mayflower – This a cute book that helps kids understand what life was like on the May Flower. It does a nice job informing of that life was life back then even if its not 100% accurate. My kids enjoyed this story and then enjoyed reenacting the journey.

Fletcher and the Falling Leaves – My kids and I love this book so much! It’s an adorable story about a fox that doesn’t understand what is happening to his favorite tree now that Autumn has arrived. The illustrations are amazing. We enjoy all the Fletcher books but this one is by far our favorite.

Scribble Stones By Diane Alber – This is the sweetest book ever! I love making kindness rocks which made reading this book even more fun. I love how this stone comes from the bottom to help others! What a great message for kids, plus there’s a fun collaborative project idea in the back! Decorating rocks is such a cute idea for Spring time too!

Mickey’s Walt Disney World Adventure -T his book is absolutely adorable! This would be a nice gift to give kids to get them excited about a Disney Trip or as a souvenir. They got to see all the rides that they were just on a couple weeks ago. It was a cute little story and my boys got super excited reading through it. If a trip isn’t in the plans, Try decorating your bikes and helmets for a Disney parade right in your own neighborhood.

Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans – This story was originally published in the early 1950s. It was a hit then and generations later, it has kids begging “Please read it to me again.” Or better yet, it’s one of those books that they later read to themselves. Although most young kids don’t know about orphans and living in an orphanage, they immediately bond with little Madeline. I love the illustrations in this book, as well as, the story. Great for ages 4 and up.

Stegothesaurus By Bridget Heos – My kids LOVE this book. We have checked it out from the library numerous times. If I’m not careful, I’ll probably order it for my kids before i’m done writing this review. This absolutely hilarious story features a verbose stegosaurus who doesn’t feel like he quite fits in until he meets an allosaurus who loves words just as much as he does.

The Great Eggscape! By Jory John – My kids Love Jory John books! This is a fun Easter-ish book for your kids. Really the only thing Easter is while the Eggs are playing hide and Seek they get decorated. Well since they are Eggs Hide and Seek would be like an Egg Hunt. Jory John’s books are clever and fun. We love downloading the audio version from the Library. We actually listen to it all year round. Only bummer with the audiobook is that you don’t get see Pete Oswald’s fun illustrations.

Pinkalicious and the little Butterfly By Victoria Kann – Charming book with lots of scientific information that compliments a cute story. As always, Pinkalicious’ wonder, enthusiasm, and curiosity drive this story and the illustrations are beautiful. Then, a page of stickers extends the story and allows children to write and illustrate their own. That’s exactly what our granddaughter did right after we read the story.

Flowers by Gail Gibbons – We love Gail Gibbon Books in this house. Educators also love this nonfiction superstar. All her books are very educational and the illustrations are amazing. She has covered seeds, farming, vegetables, fruits, and much more for children. According to the Washington Post, Gail Gibbons has taught more preschoolers and early readers about the world than any other children’s writer-illustrator. This is another great Gail Gibbons book.

Soaked! By Abi Cushman – Delightful story even as you watch the character get a little more miserable as the story progresses in the rain. I know for some little kids the sarcasm of the bear can be a little hard to understand. So may take a little extra explaining for some young readers. But my boys laughed out loud at the fun illustrations that stretched the story into a little extra absurdity and was very happy with the ending too.

Bloop By Tara Lazar – This book begins with the premise of an old joke. If aliens looked at the earth seeing us following dogs around and picking up their poop. What would they think? They would assume the dogs ruled the earth and we were the servants. Some aliens, who happen to look like dogs, make this very mistake. And hilarity ensues. Tara’s bouncy, kid-friendly text is perfectly matched with Mike Boldt’s colorful illustrations. My kid’s laughed during this whole story! Click HERE for Free Printables and more Tara Lazar Books.

Robo-Sauce By Adam Rubin – This book started a Robot obsession in my house for almost two years. This author is more famously loved books of Dragons Love Tacos and Dragons Love 2 Tacos the Sequel. But this book in our opinion is way better. I mean it actually turns into a robot. Don’t worry not a spoilers because it says it right on the cover. I just read this at my son’s preschool class for his birthday.

The Gruffalo By Julia Donaldson – This is such a fun tale. The Story is about a little mouse that outsmarts all his predators with the story of the Gruffalo. The clever little mouse uses quick thinking to solve problems and avoids being eaten. This story shows quick thinking in stressful situation is crucial to survival in the real world. I feel like this book introduces that concept to kids in a way that they can laugh and think simultaneously. I think it’s a great tale about using your wits and showing confidence. My boys have memorized most of the book. The rhymes and cadence are so much fun.

Waiting for Wings by Lois Ehlert – This book is absolutely beautiful. I read this book to my boys last year when we were studying butterflies. This book made them super excited to learning about butterflies! This story takes kids through the life cycles of a Butterfly with amazing illustrations.

Scrambled Eggs Super By Dr. Seuss – If you don’t own this book, make sure to check out at your library! This is a fun story about finding different kind of eggs as the boy travels throughout the world to make the perfect batch of scrambled eggs. My kids love the adventure and fun spirit this book shares with the reader.

On Beyond Bugs: All About Insects By Tish Rabe- Not actually written by Dr. Seuss books but one of his beloved characters the Cat in the Hat teaches us all about insects. This is a fun and educational story perfect for young kids. This a great book too if you kids are afraid of bugs.

My Many Colored Days – I’d never seen this Dr. Seuss book before I was an adult. I’m not even sure how it got in our house. Someone must have gifted it to us when my boys were little. However, the story is AWESOME. The story takes emotions and makes them visible, which is so helpful for kids. I love that it explains that you can be any number of colors but makes the point that in the end, you’re YOU, not your emotions.

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish – This is one of my favorite pre-school books to read. It is delightful, creative, imaginative story that kindled my love of fantasy, but more importantly my deep love of reading and imagining! I have spent a great deal of time sharing this amazing little book with my boys. It was a gateway for me into the magical world that springs up from within our minds, dreams and fancy.

The Cat in the Hat – Most likely if you think of Dr. Seuss you automatically think of the Cat in the Hat. What a great book that reminds me of my childhood. I love reading this book with my kiddos too. My kids are always impressed with how the Car balances items. So we we did some balancing with books today. This a great story also for kids to learn about being a good friend. Even though the Cat is making bad choices, he is always checking in and changing his plans trying to find something that the kids want to do. Many times kids are bossy with their friend and get upset if they dont’ want to play the same thing. Also the Cat makes a big mess but he always cleans up his messes.

Yertle The Turtle and Other Stories – This story has an important lesson for elementary age kids. This story shows a turtle that takes advantage of a bunch of other turtles’ kindness so he can be “king of the mountain”. Naturally, they finally get fed-up and he topples down. Many times kids want to boss around their friends but if they are always bossing around their friends eventually they won’t want to play anymore.

It’s a Small World By Little Golden Book – My boys and I both enjoy reading this book together. The book travels to many different countries and shows the pronunciation of how to say ‘hello’ in different languages as well as pictures showing how children in other countries might dress. If you are stuck inside on a cold or rainy day why not take a pretend trip to Disney world. We went on Youtube and found rides like It’s a small world, Space mountain, Splash mountain. My Kids loved it! Best part you don’t have to wait in lines.

Fixer The Robot By John Kelly – My kids were obsessed with robots for a good two years. One of the reasons was this awesome book! It is a great book about helping out and being a good friend.

Narwhal and Jelly By Ben Clanton -After discovering one of these books at the library, my kids fell in love! As far as graphic novels go, they’re simple enough to read, and the pictures and content are just an absolute joy! Highly recommend these for early readers but are entertaining enough up to Tweens. Might as well get the set once you read one, your kiddos will want them all.

Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp By Carol Diggory Shields – This is a cheerful upbeat book with great rhyming and the added bonus of some exposure to new science terminology. The illustrations are vivid, fun, and keep kids engaged in the story. I’d give this one as a gift for young Dino lovers – a must have for a personal library.

Mr. Men My Complete Collection box set By Roger Hangreaves – I totally remember reading these books when I was little. They are super fun and I read through the whole set repeatedly with my little ones. They love the books. This is a great set also the Little Miss collection is great, too!

It came in the Mail By Ben Clanton- This is a great book by Ben Clanton. My kids love this author so much! His stories are silly and entertaining. Do you know what happens if you ask for a dragon in the mail?? Well, hilarious hijinks ensue.

Goodnight, Goodnight Construction site By Sherri Duskey Rinker – Need a bedtime story for your Toddler who is obsessed with trucks? Here is a great book also look for “Mighty Mighty Construction Site”.

Shiver Me Letters: A Pirate ABC By June Sobel – My kids and I love this book. Reading ABC books is a chore for parents. But this book was fun, funny, and exciting for my 5 year old and me! We hunted for the letters on each page, and the ending is really cute!

Franklin’s Valentines By Paulette Bourgeois – A cute child’s valentine book. Exactly what my child needed. Have read this multiple times since getting.
